Programme ICV Intro ICV Training

As part of our ICV Programme, Art of Life facilitate ICV Workshops and training within the public and private sectors, schools, colleges, prisons, drug and alcohol treatment centre, youth clubs, pupil referrral units and alternative educational provisions.

The ICV course is a new and exciting course that offers students the opportunities to create their own interactive CVs which they can use as their primary marketing and networking tools.

Many of the young people and adults we work with have at times felt marginalised and disempowered because of their circumstances and experiences. As a result they feel that their options and choices are limited. The ICV programme gives them the opportunity to work towards their dreams and goals and provides them with the tools and platform to develop skills, nurture talents and represent themselves in positive and unique ways.

ICVs also give students, employees, employers and self-employed people the opportunity to demonstrate their diverse skills and talents in more depth. It is a great personal and professional development tool because it allows you to build a portfolio which emphasises your strengths and achievements.

The ICV workshops are being met with great enthusiasm and this is a great opportunity to equip students with the skills that will enable them to create positive and successful opportunities for themselves. The internet is becoming a great tool for marketing and networking, if used in a positive way and having an ICV is guaranteed to increase students self-esteem, confidence and communication skills.

Prison and Drug Rehabilitation Work

We are about to start a series of residencies and workshops within prisons throughout the UK. The ICV Programme is designed to give men and women serving custodial sentences and ex-offenders resettling into the community the opportunity and tools to create better career, training, education and business prosepects through the production of their own visually engaging marketing and networking tools.

The ICV programme incorporates personal development, literacy, creative arts and enterprise into weekly workshops.

* In order to run an ICV workshop internet access is not required.

Students will be able to enrol on the ICV Programme during their sentences and continue to update their sites upon their release.

The aims and objectives of the programme are to equip them with new transeferable skills, provide positive and healthy networking platforms, as well as to raise their confidence and self-esteem. As a result their chances of reoffending are reduced. The websites will be a great reference point for educational institutions, employers and funding organisations to view the diverse qualities, skills and talents that they possess as well as see examples of their work.

Through the workshops, students will learn the skills involved in developing and updating a website. We will also be facilitating training day sessions with teachers and trainers in order to equip them with the skills to incorporate aspects of the workshops within their lessons and to assist students in updating their sites.
